Cookie policy

Exactly what this site stores on your device, who sets it, and how to change your mind.

Last updated 26 August 2026

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep. Some make the site work. Others count visitors and show us how people move around the page. Cookies set by our own domain are first-party cookies, and cookies set by a company whose tools we use are third-party cookies.

2. Your choice, and how to change it

The first time you arrive, a banner asks what you are happy with. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary loads until you say yes, and closing the banner without choosing counts as no.

You can change your mind whenever you like. Use the cookie settings link, which also sits at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and we stop the analytics tools from that point on.

3. The cookies we use

Strictly necessary

These do not need your permission, because the site cannot do its job without them.

Statistics

These only load if you accept them. They tell us how many people visit, which sections hold attention, and where the page confuses people.

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity both run through Google Tag Manager, which is a container rather than a tracker and sets no cookies of its own.

Marketing

We do not currently run advertising cookies on this site. The banner still shows the category, so that if we ever add them you get asked first rather than opted in quietly.

4. Other content loaded from elsewhere

Two parts of this site load from another company's servers, which means your IP address reaches them as part of delivering the content. Neither sets a tracking cookie.

  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces the site is set in.
  • OpenStreetMap supplies the map showing where the workshop is.

5. Turning cookies off in your browser

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings, usually under privacy or site data. Blocking all cookies will stop the site remembering your choice here, so the banner comes back on every visit. Guidance for each browser sits on its own support site, and the ICO explains the general position at ico.org.uk.

6. Changes and contact

If we add or remove a tool, we update this page and the date at the top, and the banner asks again where the change needs fresh consent. For anything about cookies, email mbacarservices@gmail.com. Our privacy policy covers the wider picture.
